I approach my work with intention. My work is bright, graphic and colorful. Ordinary objects are placed and organized with a specific goal in mind. I often use my art to visually represent a pun, a play on words, or a reference to collective experiences. This intention isn't always obvious, it takes thought to "get it". If one pauses to consider the entire piece, including the title, it is then that they understand the message or get the joke. I aim to connect with the viewer in a real way - I want them to know exactly what I am communicating.
I graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Art Education. I worked in newspapers for the majority of my careerI designing ads as well as pagination, layout, and paste-up (yes, paste-up).
