D.Eisenberg
D.Eisenberg is a Denver based painter who is largely self-taught. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I’ve always loved drawing but took art classes only through high school. At the time I was heavily influenced by comic book styles, and my formal fine-art training pretty much ended there. After school, I picked up a lot of graphic arts jobs including design, printing, and framing. It was years before I picked up a paintbrush again and fell in love with oil painting. I like to push my own boundaries learning new techniques and media, but I always come back to oils.
I often work at a confluence of information and imagery. I find poignancy in things people might ordinarily look away from; that is, seeking beauty in destruction. A common theme is the juxtaposition of the individual with others and their relationships with the changing world around them. I see society and culture as dynamic, shaped as much or more from the ground-up, by people you may never hear of, doing things you might never know... often below the threshold of our understanding.
