I am in love with the life experiences and connections I have made in my pursuit of creation. This being mostly figurative/portrait paintings. Capturing human emotion and all its complexities fills my soul with purpose and gratitude.

As a portrait and figurative artist, I paint to convey a story about my subject that the viewer fictitiously creates. A fleeting expression, a gaze, a smirk caught in a moment can tell epic tales of victory and struggle in the recesses of ones mind. I strive to provide the viewers a moment of escape from their own epic lives.

The addition of tension to the narrative with the use of light and shadow brings my work home and a story can’t be complete without it. “The eye is always caught by light, but shadows have more to say.” Gregory Maguire.
